Mentorship Program

Deadline for applications is Friday, September 16, 2011.  Mentors are especially needed! Apply now online.

Are you an experienced communications professional with wisdom to share?  Are you searching for a trusted colleague to help enhance your skills, work through challenges, or build a stronger career?  If so, consider joining the IABC Minnesota Mentoring Program.

The next program begins this fall, and concludes in mid-May.  Mentors and mentees are expected to participate in three large-group events (kickoff, mid-year check-in, and closing)…plus meet on their own six to eight times throughout the year.

How IABC MN Defines Mentoring

This is a unique opportunity to get even more value from your IABC membership; broaden your professional network; and gain skills or insights that prepare you for career advancement.  Mentoring is NOT a job-search tool.  It is a deliberate, voluntary relationship that:

  • is arranged by IABC on behalf of its members.  We will do our best to match pairs based on industry and career interest.
  • occurs between a seasoned communications professional and someone who desires career advancement, new skills, or exposure to the mentor’s areas of expertise.
  • focuses on individual development and support through coaching and sharing.
  • benefits all participants through personal growth and career development.
  • takes place through in-person or electronic meetings for the duration of the program.

Program Cost

Mentees pay $50 once a mentor/mentee partnership has been confirmed.  This covers the cost of materials and program events.  There is no charge for mentors.  All participants must be current members of IABC.
